The School That Works!

National College Application Month

With November being National College Application Month, our College Counselors and Class of 2019 have been a busy group.  Here is a small sample of where they stand in terms of acceptances:

University of Arizona - 34 acceptances
Arizona State University - 19 acceptances
Northern Arizona University - 17 acceptances

The counseling team has held multiple FAFSA nights both in English and Spanish on campus so that parents can get the help they need and get their paperwork in order.

On top of college applications and FAFSA's, 72 out of 78 of our seniors are participating in the program Earn To Learn!  Earn to Learn is a needs-based scholarship program that teaches financial literacy and rewards students and families committed to saving money to attend ASU, NAU and UA with $4,000 of matching scholarship funding. Using special matched-savings accounts (called Individual Development Accounts, or IDAs) qualifying students who make deposits for at least six months and meet their $500 savings goal before attending one of the three in-state universities will earn $4,000 in matching funds to pay for tuition, books, and other approved expenses. The matching scholarship is renewable for up to four years depending on ongoing funding as long as students remain eligible and continue to save $500 each year.

We are proud of the Class of 2019 and excited to see those acceptance letters come in!

In September, the Class of 2019 visited Northern Arizona University!

Thank you to the Stone Canyon Community Foundation for supporting these trips financially for our students to visit campuses around the state.
